Saturday July 15th saw the first scooter ride out from Orihuela Scooter Club. The members rode out to Elche to meet up for lunch with their Spanish scooter friends.

Orihuela Scooter Club is a relatively new club established nearly 3 years ago. It was the brainchild of Lee Bradbury, who being an avid scooter and mod fan, sought out like minded people with whom to share his interest. Based in Orihuela city, the club has already more than 75 members, both Spanish and English from all over the Southern Costa Blanca region, including San Pedro, Murcia and Villa Martin. The club also has two members from further a field in England!

Lee is quick to point out that the scooter club is for anyone interested in the scooter scene. This includes mods, scooterists and the music scene that coincides. All music from Northern Soul and Ska to everyday music. The club is also very family-orientated, as wives and children of mods and scooterists are all more than welcome at the gatherings.The response from the initial set up of the club has been amazing. However, there must be many more like minded people in the area, who would be interested in joining the Orihuela Scooter Club. It is the only scooter club in the south Costa Blanca area, with the closest being in Denia.
